CAREW CRICKET CLUB beat MARSHFIELD
Carew 165 for 5 in 40 overs. Marshfield 163 all out in the 39th over.

If you missed this one you missed the thrills and spills of a Cricket match that will be talked about for many a day. The 20 - 20 at the Rose Bowl on Saturday had nothing on what the spectators saw and were put through which can only be described as the Perfect result

With Ceri "The King of Spin" on song getting 3 wickets, the sound of Harpo's memorable wicket echoing around the ground as the stumps were shattered at the Pavillion end, majestic Batting performances from Nick Scourfield, Simon Wood and Tim Hicks and an all round team performance from a side that refused to wilt under the sun on one of the hottest days of the year. And then the final catch by " Martin Mongi" Scourfield that sealed Mashfields fate. Couple all that with a Captains performance from Rob Scourfield who steered the Rooks to win the game of the season and bring a tear to many a hardened Carew Supporter.
Days like this are few and far between and bring rewards not just to the team but to the ground staff who work so hard to keep the ground in pristine condition and those unsung heros who support with the teas, the bar and general donkey work around the club. Enjoy........................!!
